For Children
Jesus loves the little children (Matthew 19:14), and so do we at Wantirna church! Children are a precious gift from God, entrusted to the care of parents, family, communities of faith and society-at-large. We ensure a variety of programs for children each week and we are intentional about protecting them. Find out more by clicking the links below.
Safe Church
We are committed to providing a safe environment for our children and vulnerable persons. Click here for more information.
Children’s Church
Children are of course invited to join their parents during the church worship service where there will be a children’s story for them. Twice a year, we have a special Children’s Worship Program where the kids basically run the entire church service!

Sabbath School for Children
Each week on a Saturday morning from 9.30am to 10.40am, kids are engaged in activities allowing them to discover God, Bible characters and lessons in various and exciting ways. These include songs, crafts, quizzes, games and of course Bible stories. The Sabbath School classes are broken down into several age groups:
Adventurers
Adventurers run monthly on a Saturday afternoon and caters for kids aged 4-9. There’s a time for song and activities, as well as Bible-based learning fun!
Adventurers is designed for kids aged 4-9, and it is a family-based program designed to support parents / caregivers and provide Bible-based learning and new skills for children. The program runs monthly on a Saturday afternoon and usually begins with some fun singing, a prayer and worship time. The group then moves into various age-appropriate activity-based classes. Throughout each activity, kids have the opportunity to earn badges known as Awards Classes.
All Adventurer leaders and volunteers adhere to our Safe Church policy

Pathfinders
Pathfinders run periodically on a Saturday afternoon, and the group goes away on camps and all sorts of other fun things on weekends from time to time! Similar to Scouts, Pathfinders get to participate in all sorts of activities, in addition to of course learning about a loving God. The age group for this is from 10-15, with 6 age level groups: Friends, Companions, Explorers, Rangers, Voyagers and Guides.
Pathfinders offers a wide range of learning experiences that are designed to shape positive values and enable young people to reach their full potential. Much of the program has to do with outdoor / nature activities which assist in developing self-confidence and an appreciation of God’s Creation. These wide range of activities include camping, hikes, games, biking, kayaking, fundraising events and much more!
However besides having fun, the Pathfinder club aims to mentor members into a growing relationship with God, achieved through spiritually-based courses of study and experiences that are both indoors and outdoors. The club is organized and led to build members into responsible, mature individuals who contribute to their families, their community, their church and their world.
We currently have more than 30 young people that attend, and we’d love for you to join us! Every four years, we join thousands of other kids at the South Pacific Division Camporee for a few days of fun-filled, spirit-building excitement and adventure.
All Pathfinder leaders and volunteers adhere to our Safe Church policy.

Playgroup
During the school term, the church runs a playgroup – called “Little Steps” – every Wednesday from 10.00am – 12pm. The cost is $5.00 per family for each session, and this covers basically all the materials that we use for activities, games, arts and craft for kids aged 0-5 years old.
We aim to provide a safe and fun environment during this time, and all our leaders adhere to our Safe Church policy
